March - April

Literally all sweets for some reason šŸ˜†šŸ˜† I was away most of April & am omitting non-Sydney foods so this release is a bit barren.

march

four colour taro balls, puree

Tim Luk (Waterloo)
Sometimes being spied on is a good thing. <3 Instagram ads for showing me this hole in the wall. Iā€™ve tried a few Chinese dessert places & they usually fall flatā€¦; Diluted, not enough flavour, few options. This one was a welcome surprise. I recommend the āTaro Puree with Rice Mochi & Coconut Milk. The employee was also super sweet.

NY cheesecake gelato

Rivareno (Darlinghurst)
āNY Cheesecake gelato, what else needs to be said.

Their display is so beautiful, I canā€™t help but stare every time I walk by. My curiosity re: the non cake items got the better of me & I purchased a few pastries. The ā€˜starā€™ was definitely the ādanishā€¦ I believe it had ginger. Iā€™m sorry I donā€™t remember at this point & it wasnā€™t labelled but they have very few pastry items, hopefully you can find it.

I also visited Lumi but I donā€™t want to get into it here (it was very good & I will be making my way back).

basque cheesecake

Omi (Chatswood)
Basque cheesecakes; a pudding-like textured cake, deliciously savoury & sweet. šŸš©Omiā€™s basqueā€¦ crumbly, dry, hardly sweet, also very small. Sigh.

potato pancake

Samnam (Chatswood)
I love a good Korean bistro but they were sorely understaffed so service was very slow. The šŸš©Potato Pancake was burnt & bitter ā˜¹ļø The KFC was good but the tteokbokki was average.

pepperoni, five boroughs

Sals (Darlinghurst)
Honestly not terrible, actual NY pizza is just in a league of itā€™s own. If you go then pepperoni is the flavour. If it doesnā€™t come out crispy, please have more courage than me & ask them to reheat it once more, it deserves to be eaten at its best šŸ˜”

april

sticky date fried ice cream

Duo Duo (Strathfield)
Fried ice cream was my favourite dessert in childhood & I still get the same serotonin hit from it now. What more could a crunchy-enjoyer, sweet-tooth haver want. āSticky Date is also a yum flavour.

Kuki (CBD)
I have a soft cookie preference and this is more of a crunchy cookie. They pair well with ice cream but alone I honestly found them to be sooo salty. It was a try once food for me, I do see the appeal though.
